Informativa sulla privacy
1. In breve
2. Titolare del trattamento
Giacomo Bibbiani (BG Foundry), Piombino (LI), Italia — P.IVA 01885240497 — e-mail: info@bgfoundry.com — PEC: bibbiani.giacomo@pec.it.
L'app riceve solo l'esito (riconosciuto sì o no), mai i dati biometrici.
- Copia automatica e sincronizzazione su iCloud Drive (iPhone). Puoi vederli e cancellarli dall'app File.
- Copia automatica e sincronizzazione su Google Drive (Android).
10. I tuoi diritti
Hai i diritti previsti dagli artt. 15–22 GDPR (accesso, rettifica, cancellazione, limitazione, portabilità, opposizione).
Privacy policy
1. In short
CheckDiary has no server and no accounts. Your diary — text, photos, videos, voice notes and moods — stays on your phone, and wherever you choose to copy it (your iCloud or your Google Drive). The controller does not receive, see or store your diary. The app has no ads, no usage analytics and no tracking tools.
2. Data controller
Giacomo Bibbiani (BG Foundry), Piombino (LI), Italy — VAT IT01885240497 — email: info@bgfoundry.com.
3. Data on your device
What you put in the diary — entries, titles, text, moods, photos, videos, voice notes and their transcripts — is stored only on your phone, in storage that only CheckDiary can access. A diary may hold very personal information, including about health, opinions or other people: that is exactly why it never leaves your phone except to your own cloud. The controller has no copy. Uninstalling the app deletes this data from the phone.
4. Phone permissions
- Camera, microphone and photos: only when you take, record or pick something to add to the diary.
- Speech recognition (iPhone only): to transcribe voice notes. Transcription happens on the phone, using Apple's on-device recognition: the audio is not sent to Apple or to us. If your language has no on-device recognition, the voice note stays without text. You can turn transcription off in Settings.
- Face ID or fingerprint: for the diary lock. The app only receives the result (recognised or not), never biometric data.
- Notifications: the reminder and morning memories are local notifications scheduled by the phone. With the lock on they don't show what you wrote.
5. Copies and sync in your own cloud
- Device backup. Like other apps, CheckDiary's data may be included in the device backup you have turned on (iCloud Backup on iPhone, Google backup on Android), handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- Automatic copy and sync on iCloud Drive (iPhone). When on, the app writes the diary and its files in the "CheckDiary" folder of your iCloud Drive. They live in your Apple account; the controller has no access. You can see and delete them in the Files app.
- Automatic copy and sync on Google Drive (Android). Only if you turn it on and grant permission to Google. CheckDiary asks for the narrowest permission available (drive.file): the app can see and change only the files it created, in the "CheckDiary" folder, and nothing else in your Drive. The files live in your Google account; the controller has no access. You can revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Film and book. The film and the PDF book are made on the phone. If you share them, they go wherever you choose, under your control.
CheckDiary's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: that data is used only to save and retrieve your copies, is never shared, never used for advertising, and no human reads it.
6. CheckDiary Plus subscription
The subscription is bought and paid through Apple's App Store or Google Play, which handle payment data under their own policies. The controller does not receive your payment details or your name: the app only asks the store whether your account has an active subscription. It stays tied to your Apple ID or Google account and can be restored on a new phone with "Restore purchases".
7. Legal bases
The controller does not process your personal data on its own systems. For the app and the subscription to work, the legal basis is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Copies to iCloud Drive and Google Drive happen at your initiative, in your own account.
8. Retention and deletion
- On the phone: until you delete entries or uninstall the app.
- In your iCloud Drive or Google Drive: the app keeps the last 14 copies of the diary and deletes older ones; a file removed from the diary stays in the cloud for 15 more days, then it is deleted. You can delete the "CheckDiary" folder at any time.
- With the controller: nothing, because nothing reaches it.
9. Children
The app can be used at any age as it collects no personal data. Purchases follow the store's parental controls.
10. Your rights
You have the rights under Articles 15–22 GDPR. Since the data is on your device and in your cloud, you can exercise them directly: edit, export or delete it in the app. For any question write to info@bgfoundry.com. You may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority — www.garanteprivacy.it — or the authority of your country.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with its date.
